The London (UK) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated supports women and youth from disadvantaged communities via mentoring, career and life skills development - preparing them to be future contributors to society.

Where it all began

The Links, Incorporated is a charitable organisation of accomplished, dedicated women who are active in the community. Founded in 1946 by Sarah Strickland Scott and Margaret Roselle Hawkins, in Philadephia, PA USA, members come from variety of industries and committed to espousing the ideals of friendship and service through delivering comprehensive philanthropic programs. Today the organisation serves international communities through its membership with chapters across the United States, United Kingdom and the Bahamas.

After serving the London community in partnership with other charitable groups for several years, the London (UK) Chapter was chartered in 2018 as the 288th chapter of The Links, Incorporated and was later separately registered as a charity and non-profit company by limited guarantee operating in England. The chartering group consisted of 28 members with backgrounds across creative and professional industries.

Delivering effective programming to serve vulnerable women and youth

The Links, Incorporated delivers its programmes around the world through five (5) facets. The Arts, Services to Youth, Health and Human Services, National Trends and International Trends. Each chapter is charged with identifying the unique needs of the surrounding community and tailoring services to meet that need.

The London (UK) Chapter delivers the five facets of service through its LEAP programme, which supports women and youth providing mentoring, career skills workshops and other support to enable them to progress into higher education and working society. Our services to women are delivered, in part, through our partnership with Dress for Success Greater London supporting their Professional Women’s Group.
